Frequently Asked Questions
-
What will happen during our first sessions?During the first few sessions, we will work together to collaboratively identify your personal needs and discuss how we can best work together to meet your goals. Treatment will be tailored to you using a variety of therapeutic approaches.
-
How long are therapy sessions? How often will we meet?Therapy sessions are typically 45-55 minutes long. Most clients attend therapy on a weekly basis; however, we can discuss how frequently sessions should occur to be most beneficial for you.
-
How long does therapy last? This truly varies depending on your needs. This is something we will discuss and decide together. For some, longer-term therapy is warranted for issues that have been present for a long time. Often learned behaviors and patterns took a long time to develop and can take time to shift. For others, a more targeted, short-term approach may be more appropriate, especially when you’re coping with a situational stressor. Either way, therapy is a process that can help you to develop insight and awareness, allow you to “get to know” your authentic self, and slowly observe an internal shift to allow you to relate to your environment in new ways.
-
How do I schedule an appointment? You can get started by filling out our contact form, calling us at 484-278-1998, or emailing us at admin@phillypsych.com. During our initial phone call, we’ll discuss your needs and identify which therapist would be the best match.
-
What are your fees? Our session fees range from $150 to $200 depending on the therapist and services provided.
-
Do you accept insurance?Several of our therapists are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield. If we’re not in-network with your plan, we can provide a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
-
What if I don’t feel like my therapist is a good fit?We want you to feel supported and safe in therapy. If it doesn’t feel like the right match, we encourage an open conversation and can help you transition to another therapist within our practice.
-
Is therapy confidential?Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of our work. What you share in therapy stays private, with a few exceptions required by law—such as risk of harm to yourself or others, or disclosures of abuse or neglect. We’ll review these details during your first session.
