Frequently Asked Questions

What will happen during our first sessions?

During the first few sessions, we will work together to collaboratively identify your personal needs and discuss how we can best work together to meet your goals.  Treatment will be tailored to best suit your needs use a variety of therapeutic approaches.

How long are therapy sessions? How often will we meet?

Therapy sessions are typically 45-55 minutes long.  Most clients attend therapy on a weekly basis; however, we can discuss how frequently sessions should occur to be most beneficial for you.

How long does therapy last?

This truly varies depending on your needs. This is something we will discuss and decide together.  For some, longer-term therapy is warranted for issues that have been present for a long time.  Often learned behaviors and patterns took a long time to develop and can take time to shift.  For others, a more targeted, short-term approach may be more appropriate, especially when you’re coping with a situational stressor.  Either way, therapy is a process that can help you to develop insight and awareness, allow you to “get to know” your authentic self, and slowly observe an internal shift to allow you to relate to your environment in new ways.
